Costa Calida (Warm Coast)
The Costa Calida, made famous by the La Manga Club, is tucked between the Costa Blanca and the Costa de Almeria. It comprises about 250km of Mediterranean coastline in the province of Murcia. Its high temperatures and low rainfall make its name an accurate one. The Costa Calida has plenty to offer – huge unpopulated soft sand beaches, numerous National Parks, hidden coves, sudden cliffs going down to the sea, the biggest inland lagoon in Europe, and the regional capital itself, a bustling very Spanish city, where few ex-pats have yet dared put up shop. Add to that its relatively cheap cost of living, excellent communications, and important coastal towns, this coast is one that’s hard to beat.
